On the occasion of the 2011 Population and Housing Census, the Statistical Office of the SR has made available a permanent census exhibition, at Miletičova Street 3, in the office building. The exhibition is open to the public on business days from 8 until 16 o´clock.
The interesting exhibits are presented on the first floor of the office´s foyer. Besides the original Census Sheets for example from 1980, a Dictionary of Geographic names available in Hungarian language is exhibited which is composed of more than 100 years old census results. The dictionary was borrowed to the Statistical Office by Michal Zika from Bratislava, for the sake of the contest “Searching for the oldest census exhibit”.
Visitors may also take a look at the occasional postage stamp issued on “Census 1980”, postage stamp with a personalized coupon on “Census 2011”, preserved census logos, promotional items, publications of census results and for the first time in census history explanatory notes for the blind and partially sighted available in Braille. The exhibition also contain Milan Minárik´s drawings resembling the most important census moments.
